From December 2010 to January 2011 and in the summer of 2011, the AAMS team conducted semi-structured interviews with local Malian experts, activists, NGO representatives, aid associations, government representatives, women’s human rights and development advocates, and met with President Amadou Toumani Touré.

We now work in solidarity with TEMEDT.

TEMEDT - combats hereditary slavery in Northern Mali

Please see the testimonies below (in PDF format) that have been translated by AAMS's Chantal Evans.

We encourage groups to also support the following:

1) Mali Enjeu - works to combat human trafficking on the border of Sikasso, Mali

For more information, visit

2) École Youchaou Traoré - educates survivors of cocoa trafficking in Bamako, Mali

For more information about Youchaou Traoré, please visit

We recently sold slavery-free chocolate in collaboration with [Free-Them] to raise funds for these groups.
